Sandro Zammit nets a Moray Eel and steals the show

The second Singles league match got underway this morning at Xemxija Bay.

It originally had to be held at Qawra but much to the surprise of all there was still a generous swell coming in and this made it a tad dangerous to hold a match under such conditions, so one and all proceeded to Xemxija this being the alternate, not with a little disappointment as Qawra was much preferred.

The match started at 0715 and finished at 1115.

As was expected Xemxija was quite a disappointment with fewer fish landed.

Some 27 anglers took part today and the Champion of the day was Sandro Zammit who netted a nice Moray eel besides other bottom fish for a total of 1.28kgs. 2nd overall went to Mark Zarb with 1kg; our newcomer manages to place again!

Then we had a joint 3rd with .790kgs.

These were Brian Farrugia and John Attard, with a decent amount of small saddle Bream (sparli).

Next match will be on the 23rd February at Sliema Exiles.
