KSFA Marsascala Seabed Cleanup & Children Charity Event in Aid Of Puttinu Cares
On the 4th August KSFA has organised for the first time an Underwater Seabed Cleanup in Marsascala and the annual Charity Event named "Mit-tfal Ghat-tfal" this time in Aid of Puttinu Cares.
It was a long day for our members that came over to help out in both activities since by noon they were already there and left late in the evening after 20:00.
During the 4 hours of cleanup a staggering 798.48 kilos of garbage were collected. Most of the debris was fishing gear left in the sea and loads of old glass bottles. We wish to thank the following organisations for helping us out:- Malta Touris Authority, NGO Zibel, Raniero Adventures, Divemed, No to Plastic Malta and several other divers and snorkelers.
At 17:00, "Mit-tfal Ghat-Tfal" activity started were a nice group of 37 children came over to enjoy some fishing time with their parents. You could see their smiles when they caught something. During the time members from our Club were helping out in rigging and answering the questions of their parents. It was quite an eventful activity were the nice sum of Euro 1100 was collected in Aid of Puttinu Cares.
