Great match at Qbajjar Gozo Gilson and Aquilina in 1st Place

Qbajjar Gozo this morning provided the scenario for the 4th KSFA double match, and what a match it was to be.

There was quite a swell early in the morning and the fish started biting with the very first casts.

Where our anglers could be seen catching fish after fish.

The surprise was that the fish being landed were mostly annular bream (sparli) which up to today had been practically inexistant.

These were not big fish but were being caught in quantities.

Some zabri and small salp were also caught.

But the prize of the day went to James Gilson and Jonhatan Aquilina who did not delve in quantity but quality, landing some marvelous parrot fish in the process for a total weight of 4.09kgs, and proof of this if ever was needed was a perrot fish of .710g caught by James Gilson which is the biggest fish regestered so far in the league.

In second place were Adrian Nelson and Roberto Bugeja with no less then 4.6kgs. Here quantity prevailed as Adrian and Roberto simply could not stop catching an assortment of smallish fish. Speed fishing on the bottom!

In third place Kevin Cassar and Salvu Borg with 2.84kgs mostly sparli, but they clinched their third place towards the end with 3 nice size parrot fish also.

Section winners were: section A: Jonathan Vella and David Collins with 2.37kgs. Section B: John Attard and Joe Schembri with 2.80kgs.
